a statisitics researcher collects data with a sample of 225 people indicating 170 of the perfer Nike athletic shoes over Asics athletic shoes.
a. what is the 90% confidence interval for the proportion of people who prefer Nike ocer Asics?
b. Which interpretation of that confidence intercal is best? and what is the reasoning?
1. “we think that 90% of allpeople prefer Nike over Asics”
2.” we are 90% sure that 225 were in this sample”
3.” we think this CI is one of the 90% of all confidence intervals that contain the true calue of p.”
4. we confidently think that 170% of 225 people were sampled”
Hey, for a school project (at a portfolio school), I have to write a creative brief (and subsequently come up with ads) for a non-athletic shoe brand. i cant decide between steve madden, ben sherman and john varvatos. i was hoping someone could
A) give me their thoughts on the different shoes
B) how they are perceived (crappy, great, high end, low end, etc)
C) the type of people that buy them
i definitely appreciate your input. thanks!
Just graduated nursing school and wanting to spend some of my graduation money on a good pair of nursing shoes. I know about Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc. On several sites that sell scrubs, I’ve noticed that the Merrell Jungle Moc Pro for Ladies and the Landau RX Nursing shoes have gotten good reviews. Are these shoes worth the extra price? The first is $80 and the second is $130. Will other brands, such as Nike, New Balance, Adidas, etc. offer the same support? Basically… are the nursing schools any different than the regular athletic/walking/running shoes?
I going to 6 Flags this summer and it’s suppose to be pretty hot (around 90 F). I would like to wear a short sleeve shirt and shorts, but I dont know about the shoes….If I went with flip-flops I take the risk of loosing one. If I wore my running shoes wouldn’t that look weird? We plan on staying there all day long….What about flats? Girls can you help me!? What would you wear at 6 Flags, when its 90 F, and you’ll spend all day there? Keep in mind I want to look good… (and feel comfortable.)

A researcher claims that the average cost of men’s athletic shoes is less than $80. He selects a random sample of 36 pairs of shoes from a catalog and finds the sample average to be $75 with a sample standard deviation of $19.20. Assume a=0.10. Use this data to answer the following questions:
What is the critical value of z for this procedure?
What is the test value or z for this data?
Is there enough evidence to support the claim that the average cost of men’s athletic shoes is less than $80? Yes or no? (Hint: You may want to draw a picture of the normal probability function.)
Please explain.

My birthday is upcoming so I figured I would buy a nice new pair of jeans and I have really been looking at a pair of fresh Nudies. However I am just wondering possibly what type and size i should get.
I wear a 29 in levis a 28 in TR’s. I am thinking about going for a 28/34 pair to allow for the stretching, do you think it would be a good fit?
Also I’m not sure with fit to get I guess I am what people would consider “Scene” but I am looking for a pair that is tight yes, but not to tight and in the long run will look classic, I am of skinnier build so I was thinking of the Grim Tim or Thin Flinn.
I too am looking for a general change in clothing styles So with these jeans I would like to buy something sort of classic too.
A good looking shirt with an athletic fit would be nice. Also a new pair of shoes that would compliment the Nudies.
If anyone could give me advice on these It would be greatly appreciated.
